77 Years of Rodeo in Scott ValleyJanuary 4, 2025-- Siskiyou County, CA
Etna, CA, is located in the Scott Valley, a region in California's True north. The SVPP Rodeo arena is 45 minutes from Interstate-5 at Yreka, and is known for a tradition of rodeo and legendary beauty at the base of the Trinity Alps and the Russian Wilderness. Siskiyou County is known for iconic Mt. Shasta and its notable ranches. The 2nd Annual WSRRA Sanctioned Ranch Rodeo The Ranch Rodeo is on Saturday, May 3rd. Four person teams will compete in Ranch Doctoring, Calf Branding, Pen One-Tie One, three man milking, and 1 Man Dally Calf Roping. The 77th Annual May Rodeo The May Rodeo is on Sunday, May 4th, with youth events at 12:30pm and Grand Entry and Performance at 2pm. Traditional timed and roughstock events include Mixed Team, Open Team and Breakaway Roping, Girls Barrel Racing, Ranch Bronc Riding, Wild Saddle Cow and Bull Riding. The 47th Annual Old Timers Rodeo The Annual Old Timers Rodeo will take place on Saturday, July 26th, with youth events at 3 pm, and Grand Entry and Performance at 5pm, followed by a Live Concert at 8:30 pm. This year marks the 47th year of the Old Timers Rodeo, and it promises to be a memorable one. "We are excited to welcome rodeo fans to Siskiyou County for these two great events," said Alyssa Burrone, President of the Scott Valley Pleasure Park Rodeo Association. "We have been preparing for months to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that everyone has a fantastic time.
